A comical attempt at travel humour.
Now introducing to you, our very own brand new travel comic!
Why a comic, you ask? Well, I just wanted to do something new and different, that's all.
In these comics, I'll try to express travel-related things in a humorous perspective.
If I have more time to spare, I'll try to give them a better finishing, and maybe even try to colour them. Until then, it'll be just in black and white and somewhat hastily drawn drawings. These are hand-drawn and then digitally enhanced. No fancy tools used.
Why is the guy bald, you ask? Well, I'm just too lazy to draw hair or colour it.
This one above is about the reviews we see in various places, travel websites, hotel reviews, etc. And if you have the habit of looking at reviews, you'd see that sometimes there'd be contradicting reviews left for the same thing.
That is, sometimes you'd see a review that says very good things and also some that heavily criticise it. And not only on travel-related sites, or apps, but you'd also see such reviews on shopping apps or services too.
Now, we all know the existence of paid reviews or fake reviews, which sometimes try to paint a picture that's better than reality to attempt to boost the reputation of what's being reviewed, and sometimes try to paint a worse picture in case of an attempt to sabotage the reputation.
For example, in the year 2020 alone, Tripadvisor took down nearly 1 million fake reviews, according to their review transparency report released in 2021. Fake reviews are a menace on other platforms too, and you have to be careful before you rely on reviews that you come across.
Of course, this doesn't mean you shouldn't look at them at all, but you cannot take everything you see at face value.
So, you may have sometimes encountered a bunch of contradicting reviews for something or someplace, and perhaps wondered that which ones are real, yes?
Anyway, this is just a little attempt at some travel humour. I hope you like it. You've had your own experiences with reviews? Let us know!
